The Mayors Duck Race 2026
It was fantastic day for a Duck Race with a packed crowd on both banks of the Bower cheering 1000 ducks around the course with the help of Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue. It was touch and go all the way with some young pretenders to the throne setting the pace before some of the more experienced ducks gave it all when it counted. £2000 was raised which in time will be passed onto the Mayors Good Causes these being Defibrillators For All and No Gain No Pain (Providing syringe drivers)
Winning Duck 528 was owned and trained by Cllr Mrs Dee Laws winning £100 sponsored by Whittlesey Sports Association – The Big Bash. Winning Time 14 minutes and 14 seconds
2nd Duck home was 459 owned and trained by Louise Aldridge, Louise has won £75 courtesy of Adam at BBQ & Brews on Church Street .
3rd Duck was 426 owned and trained by Callum Dowler & family winning £25 sponsored by Coles Barbers of Queens Street.
There were 10 Lucky Losers ducks these being

Each of the above have won £10 thanks to Chris at Antiques Collectables & Toys of Whittlesey .
The Mayor Cllr Alex Miscandlon and Cllr Barry Wainwright Chairman of the Projects Committee of Whittlesey Town Council thanked. The Duck ticket sellers, the shop outlets who also sold tickets, Cambs Fire & Rescue, Whittlesey Scouts and their Paddle Team, the sponsors, St John Ambulance , C A Drone Media, Radio Fenland and RWT Photography for the images.
Whitt the Duck has earned a well-earned break after numerous personal appearances and will be flying south until 2027. The next Duck Race is Easter Monday 29th March 2027.
